Monday, June 13- Much Ado About Nothing

Monday June 13- Laundry Laundry Laundry

After sleeping what seems at least 12 hours between 6pm and 12pm today, we still feel crummy. London Jet Lag + colds... grumble grumble. I've been drinking a lot of Emergen-C and the Immune Defense Vitamin boosters and we're going to visit the Chemists (pharmacy) later on for more meds. Getting sick was bound to happen at the rate we were going. Good thing is it's happening now (Monday) and NOT 4 days later this Friday for Scotland! I'll be feeling much better by then I'm sure. I'll try to take it a bit easier this week- and carry on as they say.

We had a lot of clothes to wash and their washers here are so small. So we took the big loads down around the corner to the washateria but it's closed at 2pm on a Monday. Everything here closes at ridiculous hours! Luckily Charlie told us it's not a big deal to do a couple extra loads past our (1 per week). Thank goodness. All my clothes smell like pubs. So right now we have a close line outside in where we're hanging all our clothes. It's formed a laundry tree you could say.

Pastry, Cafés, & Markets close at 4pm. Most shops 6pm. The only thing to do at night is the theatre, movies, or pubs. The sun rises at 4am and sets around 10pm. it's much cooler that 70 degrees here more like 65 during the day and low 50's at night.

West End Theatre
We went to Much Ado About Nothing tonight and saw David Tennant and Catherine Tate play Beatrice and Benedict. Lisa wore her David Tennant Pin lol. I wore my gold boots, coral scarf and pinstripe vest and we were off to the Theatre!
Beatrice & Benedict

It was a modern take of the play, and the traditional masquerade scene was turned into a halloween party with Claudio dressed as Adam Ant, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, David dressed as an ugly frumpy female bimbo in tights and a leather skirt and Catherine dressed like a blues brother in a man's suit. They danced and sang. I love an Englishman in drag! A couple scenes later back in their normal attire they had the scene where Benedict was ease dropping on the males talking about him and he tries to hide (quite obviously) behind some pillars. He ends up getting paint on his hand and as the conversation gets juicier when he hears that Beatrice is in love with him he distractingly wipes it across his face and later ends up covered in paint! So funny! His soliloquy delivered in a superman shirt and a bucket of paint! Catherine Tate (playing Beatrice) had an identical scene where as she was ease dropping to here this news of Benedict in love with her a painter attaches the lever and harness to her overalls and sends her up and down the pillars. So hilarious!
After the production ended we scurried to the stage door in the back of the theatre to get autographs. I got David & Catherine to sign my programme and I told Catherine that "we love you Catherine!" (too stupid to think up anything else original). She said, "thanks love" and went on signing others merchandise. I'm so reeling with excitement! We're going to back another night after the show and try and get an official picture with David! So handsome even in person! His left eye was swollen and he still carried on with the show! Too cool that we met them! London still feels like a dream...
