Covent Gardens / Cabinet War Rooms / Killer Queen!

Kettle Chips: Best chips ever! Comes in some yummy flavors!

10:30 am we bought tickets for We Will Rock You (Musical based on Queen's songs) for £25 at Leicester Station (1/2 price tickets).

We strolled through Covent Gardens where they have little shop and food vendors-

and I bought world famous laduree macaroons.

Flavors: Chocolate, Rose, Vanilla, Pistachio, Butter Caramel, Madagascar Chocolate, Coffee, and Melon.

I tried a jacket potato from ULU right before class (hot potato with cold chicken, ham, sweetcorn, and mayo). NOT MY FAV. It was like eating chicken salad on a hot potato.

In class at 1pm, we watched the German Episode of Faulty Towers. Really funny! John Cleese comic genius!

"Don't Mention the War..."

"fire... Fire... FIRE!"

Ed & Hayley were playing with their sonic screwdrivers in class. I love that we all bring our new toys to class.

Look at all of those Doctor Who Novels- This show has a STRONG presence here because it is SOOO ENGLISH. More than STAR WARS!

The other night Lisa and I couldn't get on to the internet OR get the tele to work (Film majors I know?!) and we played with the lego Doctor Who characters and tardis!

(We had two doctors (they came in SURPRISE packages where we didn't know what we'd get), so there's a dead doctor in the tardis and Amy has come back in time with the Tardis to warn the past doctor of all the badies right behind him! hahaha)

After class we went to the Cabinet War Rooms where Churchill conducted the war- I thought it would be soooo boring but there was SOOOO many interactive exhibits and and awesome audio guide that it proved to be rather fascinating.

While waiting for people to exit the war rooms, those of us sat outside on the grass and laid out. Sterling was giving us his LONDON overall rap, Shelia was reading a magazine, and Hayley, Lisa, and I were sharing freshly honey roasted nuts. A bee came round Sterling flipped his shit! Jumping up and running around yelling! SO FUNNY!

As Ed is playing with his electric screw driver (Doctor Who). Ryan and Steven are fencing like knights with sticks. Then Sterling comes in with a stick, waves it around, and yells some gibberish and acts like he casts a spell from Harry Potter. Silly boys!

Luckily I caught it all on video. : )

After we ran to Oxford Circus (our theatre production located around the corner) and caught a SALE on at TOP SHOP! I bought a coin purse for all my bloody english coins!!! It's much more practical to hold on to change here since it goes up to bigger denominators.

(1p, 2p, 5 pence, 10 pence, 20 pence, 50 pence,

1£, 2£- and the smallest paper note is a 5£)

We at the Macroons in the theatre and enjoyed the Queen Rock Musical! Fabulous and cheesy but it was the closest to seeing Queen! We sang our hearts out.

Their encore was Bohemian Rhapsody! <3

Class & China Town

It's raining hard and cooled down since yesterday's scorcher!

Stopped by the yummy sandwich shop today and got the Mona Lisa-

Went to the class where Kevin Marsh explained BBC & Journalism along with ethnical choices made by reporters day to day.

Went with Lisa, Hayley, & Ed to China town.

At the Dumpling Legend- I had jasmine tea, aromatic crispy duck, and pork and veggie dumplings. yum.

Where they made the dumplings by hand and steamed in those bamboo steamers.

The served the dumplings with this great sauce made of ginger slices and dark vinegar-

Took the tube home by myself. Charlie is here reciting shakespeare- or something.

I miss home.

Heat wave & Bridesmaids

Went for lunch at the
Millenium Café down tufnell street.

Walked back home and stayed in because the heat from the day before and now is too much.

High of 91 degrees here in London (Highest in 5 years!) and with no A/C or fans it's suffocating. I took 2 cold baths today and slept on top of the covers trying to cool down.

8:30pm (20:30) we went to Odeon Theatre and saw Bridesmaids. Cute movie! Their theatres are actually theatres! The seats are wide at the top and slop narrow to a tiny screen at the bottom. The first 4 rows are "Premiere" seating and no one sat in them. You have to pay more to sit up front with the a/c.

Chris O'dowd (an irish actor from the IT Crowd and the sad brokenhearted one in Pirate Radio) was adorable in the film. I'm excited he's making his way into American Cinema.

Sunglasses like Mercury

Found a pair in Camden! Same pair as Freddie Mercury (of Queen) & Noel Fielding.
