Tuesday, July 6-

Slept 10 glorious hours-thanks to Disarrono

Woke up in the middle of the night violently shivering and threw on the comforter and blanket. Then around 5am woke up drenched in sweat from the rising sun and kicked off the all the covers. I've spent many a night here sleeping on top of the covers because it gets so sticky and stuffy hot in the morning. I think this is the point of the trip I'm getting more complainy because i'm not feeling all that great. Everything here takes time to do, prepare, or get to. "Mod Cons" (Modern Conveniences) and short and few to come by. No Ice, No ice water, no dryers, no ventilation system, everything smells like toilets, you pretty much get rained on everyday. Everything closes at 5pm and the pharmacy is NEVER open when I need it! Water fountains do not exist here. McDonalds runs out of hamburgers, Starbucks runs out of sugar, and restaurant servants can NEVER understand us! Duck & Dive ran out of Baileys & a pub located at the Docks in Liverpool ran out of Cod Fish on a Friday. I miss showers and am tired of taking dirty baths. I miss controlled air conditioning!!!! Had to vent -Anyways- Sleep helped, but felt terrible on and off all day.

Jade Williams was our guest speaker today. She performed as "Sloth" in the Doctor Faustus play and told us all about the Globe and how it worked. Every season (6 months) they pick their plays based on a theme. This Season is it is "God / The Divine" and previous seasons were "Young Hearts" with Romeo & Juliet & As You Like It, and "Kings & Rogues" like Richard III & all the Henry Parts.

She told us the difference in dynamics of working in radio, television, film, and theatre and how much they really are different and that theatre is the most demanding of them all.

She told us how Arthur Darvill (Dr. Who) has to shave off his beard this week to film some scenes for Doctor Who- so afterwards he'll have to wear a fake beard for the remainder of Doctor Faustus. Lol.

Arthur in Doctor Faustus (real beard)

Arthur in Doctor Who (obviously no beard)

When she told the class, "I don't know if you know but- Doctor Who is kinda a big show here", Hayley, Lisa & I giggled just a bit.

After we went to the Duck & Dive before the television taping. We went over to the Television Taping at Waterloo station near the BBC and turns out- it was standby and we didn't get in. So we went back to the Duck & Dive at the University and had a few beers.

And the night continued as we discussed further into the film Ryan & Sterling are going to make:

Sterling as Jermaine Crenshaw

Ryan as John "Ardal" McLeary

Chase as Chase Wittingham

Mark as Mark Mancastle

Chelsea as Sasha Evanaviche

and Ed as Ching Wang Wong
